Small Businesses Increasing Social Media Presence.

Posted: 18 Feb 2013 05:00 AM PST

For my frequent visitors to my blog it is a no brainer to be on as many social media platforms as possible, so this post is more for those of you stopping by to take a look, I talk about this subject matter quite a bit in my Local Marketing Blue Print course.

Most small businesses are expected to increase their business’s presence on social media sites like the big three Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as well as using blogs and Google+ by an average of 60% more than they did last year with blogs actually being the front runner of where most companies are going to focus their efforts.

Using social media is one of the easiest most and cost effective ways of marketing there is plan and simple! I mean think about it if some one is willing to like your Facebook page or follow your business’s twitter account then they are already more than interested then what you have to say, these people are loyal customers that you want to keep coming back for more.

The problem is that most businesses don’t even bother getting on the social media bandwagon and those that do often abuse it and scare customers away… I think we can all attest to that one friend that tweets way too damn much and you finally just say screw it “unfollow” well the same goes for a business account, give them a reason to keep following you and not just barate them will meaningless offers.

While your at it making social media accounts for your business don’t forget about Yelp and Google places. Maybe it is just a Lincoln thing but you wouldn’t believe how many people are not up to date on Yelp. It takes 5 minutes to get your business information up on Yelp and Google places and could be the deciding factor for someone between you and your competitor.
