Facebook is going to introduce #hashtags

Talk about a copy cat right? Hell if it works and you can get away with it, might as well do it!

Facebook announced yesterday on their blog that they will now be adding the hashtags  feature, just like Twitter and Instagram, to Facebook. This is a win win for Facebook in my opinion. Think about it, it had to cost them practically nothing to come up with the idea since it is simply just a rip off from other social media sites and think about how much they can, and will, use this to leverage advertising.

Facebook already uses what you “like” on Facebook to tailor adds directly to you, now they will be able to be even more accurate up to the minute about what you are talking about and what you hashtag.

It will also be very interesting to see if they do a what’s trending feature as well. I am not sure about you guys but my twitter feed can gets some pretty dirty stuff trending and Facebook seems to be a more family friendly environment.

I can’t wait to see to see how this will all play out for Facebook, too bad they blocked me from advertising. >:(
