Shoemoney - Skills To Pay The Bills |
2 Traffic Sources I Recently Discovered Posted: 13 Oct 2015 07:19 AM PDT The ShoeMoney Network is growing at a rapid pace, and we have several great affiliates through various networks (all major networks have it, ask your affiliate manager). We do of course have our own affiliate network but I would rather you go through others as I don’t have time to police affiliates. I do still buy a significant amount of our own media though. Couple things I have found that work and some that just don’t work that I wanted to share that before I was not familiar with. First off banner traffic for the ShoeMoney Network doesn’t work. I have tried numerous networks and its just not yielding results. Here are ones that are working… and that I have never used before. PTC (Paid To Click) sites: These are sites where a user is paid to click on an and and watch it for a time period. Prices depend on how much you make the user stay on your site. Sounds like junk traffic eh ? Well for me its working very well. I never would have guessed. Some example sites are Neobux, and Traffic monsoon. Traffic is dirt cheap… and I mean super cheap. Like half a million clicks for a couple hundred bucks. Only issue is the volume of traffic just isn’t there. Like literally I can’t spend 1k in 2 weeks. I even offered to the network owner that I would pay 2x as much for more traffic but got an odd response. Maybe english isn’t there first language not sure. Tips for PTC: Don’t set a huge budget and let it run. It will do a lot of traffic the first day then quickly trail off. This is because when the users goto click on ads they are shown on a board and they are in order of when they were purchased. So you want to try to figure out about how many clicks you get a day and then add it daily or a couple times a week. As I said above the pricing is based on the amount of time the user has to view your page. You can require the user to look at your site anywhere from 3 seconds to 60 seconds. Tiers pretty much double in pricing. Even though the standard is 4x as much as the micro and 2x as much as the mini that is where I see the biggest ROI. Another great source of traffic I have found is SoloAds: I had heard of SoloAds but never knew what they were. I thought it was some sort of advertising network. SoloAds are email traffic. But not bulk email. It what they call “warm” traffic meaning the list owner has a relationship with their lists. They are all double opted in and SoloAd providers and as I said they are familiar with the list owner. Think of it kind of like John Chow’s auto responder when you join his list… He emails a lot of offers. I would say mine to except I rarely promote anything and when I do I usually tell a story around it more than actually trying to sell the product. The interesting thing about SoloAds is they are not geared to sales. They are geared for people to build their own lists which then they can sell Soloads to. Odd I know. But thats how it works. I have found certain sources of this traffic very well. There is a Facebook group called “SoloAds Testimonials” which does a good job in that people post results they got from buying SoloAds. The downside is that SoloAds are incestuist. Because SoloAd sellers buy from other SoloAd sellers many of them have the same exact people on their lists. SoloAd traffic runs anywhere from 50 cents to 90 cents per click depending on the seller. Higher price does not always mean higher quality. I deal direct with the best and most respected solo ad sellers and I have never paid more than 65 cents per click. Doesn’t mean they have all worked… The worst I came out was -20% ROI but all together I am about 65% ROI on the SoloAd buys as a whole. Bad news is its not really scaleable. The SoloAd sellers I have bought from I can usually only buy about 4-6 thousand dollars worth before they are out of clicks. Then sometimes they will intro me to others but again its very incestuist and you see ROI go down the more you buy from others (I have anyway). For more on SoloAds you should listen 1. to this podcast where my guest was Andrea Fulton. For me the only real source of traffic that is scaleable is Facebook and PPC engines. While they might not have the ROI that these other sources do its a source of traffic that can truly scale infinitely.
