Another day another interesting email from a company that is doing it wrong.  But like always I have solutions based on my experience.   I was going over tax returns the other day and figuring everything out and holy shit I have sold almost 50 million dollars of my own and other peoples products through email.  Thats insane.  But it probably makes me a little qualified.

Right now with the PAR Program I am writing copy for companies all the time and its like shooting fish in a barrel.

Want some gems?  Here is one its called the 3 p’s.  I have written about it many times but it always needs to be pounded into peoples head.

  • Pain – how you’re losing money,  how your house is going to burn down, etc etc
  • Potential – what if there was a company out there?
  • Proof – Well Jimmybob over at jimmybob.com did it and here was his results.

Now those are some basic ones but real magic comes together when you know how to mix in a bit of the reluctant hero approach,  some scarcity,

Ronn Torossian – PR Guru On How To Optimize Hits

Posted: 10 Jul 2013 05:00 AM PDT

So many of our clients create websites, set up ad placement, and then look to generate traffic. There are hundreds of ways to promote a website and its content, from paying for sponsorship on a search engine to paying high-traffic sites to direct readers to you.  But the best (and cheapest) way to generate real traffic is the old fashion way; do it yourself.

As any web guru will tell you, one-time hits are not good for long term success on the internet.  Making your site a source for return visits is the surest way to guarantee a profitable future to your business. As such it becomes important to make your website content work for you, and ensure the public you are trying to reach want to come back to your site, and drive others there.
Here are 3 great ways to generate content for a successful site.

1. Start Small, and Work Out

There are already well established sites all over the internet for every topic and resource imaginable. Trying to topple a Huffington Post or IMDB is near impossible, even with big money support.  Start on a small focus, and grow into a leader in that genre, before expanding.

If you want your site to cover racing news, start by covering smaller local races.  It is much easier to build a strong site reporting or ARCA or CRA than NASCAR or Formula 1.  Starting small allows you to focus your outreach to a significantly smaller, easier to identify group of people than simply casting yourself into an ocean of competition. There is always time to cover more areas.  Make sure your content is good, be a regular and make it happen.

2. Enhance Search Status With SEO

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the process by which website content interacts with search engine analytics to determine where in a search your site will rank.  This is done through a number of factors, including keywords and key phrases, level of content, and inter-site linking.  This is a main key to generating traffic to your site, and drives much of your site's content.

With the previous example concerning a racing news site, it becomes important to fill your site with specific desired content.  While focusing on keywords like "racing" or "cars," ensure the presence of keywords and phrases like "ARCA Series," and "Minor League Racing."  Doing this will ensure that those searching for specific sites on those topics are more likely to come to you.

3. Utilize Trends

With social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, it is easier than ever to tell exactly what news and information is popular day to day.  Working in trending topics into your site content is a good way to ensure that your site is seen by more people.  Whatever the news of the day is, as more people search for it, it is easier to post content, still related to your main topic, that also includes trending topics.

These simple steps will significantly increase your site traffic, and help you build a profitable, popular site that can one day grow into an online empire, and a truly successful business.

And of course – hire the best PR Agency to make it happen.
